Don’t take credit for Pokuase interchange, it’s Mahama’s project- NDC MPs to Akufo-Addo
Minority Caucus of Parliament is making a strong case that Ex-President John Mahama is the real architect behind the Pokuase interchange warning President Akufo-Addo not to take credit for the establishment of the strategic infrastructural project.
Speaking at a press conference monitored by African Editors on 7 July 2021 in Accra, the NDC MP for Adaklu Governs Kwame Agbodza insists “Akufo-Addo government cannot take credit for the establishment of the interchange”.
The Adaklu Lawmaker Agbodza’s comment follows statement by Roads and Highways Minister Amoako Atta that the Mahama Administration contributed zero to the Pokuase interchange.
Minority Spokesperson on Roads and Transport Mr. Agbodza noted that “have you seen any interchange built in Ghana by Akufo-Addo? There’s none, Pokuase is a vision of Mahama and NDC and this was confirmed by Director of Urban Roads in Daily Graphic publication that procurement processes were done by Mahama Administration”.
Meanwhile, the Pokuase interchange will officially open on Friday July 9, 2021 for vehicular movements and drivers are urged by Department of Urban Roads to drive safely in order to escape road accidents.
The interchange which connects parts of Accra including Awoshie, Kwabenya, Nsawam and others is expected to ease vehicular traffic to facilitate movements of goods, services and all forms of commercial activities.
This implies that motorists from Accra to Pokuase must use the service lane from Accra and get to Pokuase for safety.
Also, motorists from Accra to Awoshie must used the service lane from Accra, climb unto intermediate flyover and turn left into Awoshie.
But, motorists from Accra to Kwabenya must use the service lane from Accra and climb unto intermediate flyover and turn right into Kwabenya.
It also presupposes that, motorists from Kwabenya to Awoshie must use the over pass from Kwabenya to Awoshie.
Furthermore, motorist from Kwabenya to Accra must use the service lane from Kwabenya, climb unto intermediate flyover and turn left into Accra.
Not all but also, motorists from Nsawam to Kwabenya must use the service lane from Nsawam and climb unto intermediate flyover and turn left into Kwabenya.
In addition, motorists from Awoshie to Nsawam must use the service lane and climb unto intermediate flyover and turn left into Nsawam.
Meanwhile, motorists from Awoshie to Accra must keep right on the service lane from Awoshie , climb unto intermediate flyover and turn right into Accra.
