NPP primary: Dr. Prempeh’s contest raises eyebrows

Ghana’s Minister of Energy Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh, also known as NAPO, has raised eyebrows after he officially filed his nomination forms to contest as a Member of Parliament for the Manhyia South Constituency in the Ashanti Region. This marks the fifth time NAPO has entered the parliamentary primaries for the New Patriotic Party (NPP).

Despite the nomination process only opening not long, NAPO wasted no time in submitting his forms at the party’s Constituency office, accompanied by his supporters. NAPO, who currently serves as the Energy Minister, is a popular figure within the party and there have been rumors of him being chosen as the running mate for the NPP’s Flagbearer.

However, NAPO’s decision to contest the seat again has left many wondering about his future plans. In an interview with the media, NAPO expressed confidence in his ability to win the primary and lead the party in the constituency.
