Africa must speak hope to young people -Prof. Lumumba
Former Director of Keyan Law School and Anti-graft Campaigner Prof. Patrick Loch Otieno Lumumba has acknowledged that the young African needs to be given hope that it has not broken beyond repairs in fixing challenges facing the continent. Speaking at press conference after the cancellation of the much anticipated Pan African event: The Convention 2024, the Legal Puritan Prof. Lumumba insists the speakers will return to Accra-Ghana again despite the roadblocks.
“We’ll come here again”, Prof. Lumumba expressed in confidence.
The Pan African event, The Convention 2024, which was supposed to take place on Sunday, January 7, 2024 at the Independence Square in Ghana, has been abruptly canceled. The event was eagerly awaited by thousands of people, including esteemed speakers such as Professor P. L. O. Lumumba, Julius Malema, Dr. Arikana Chihombori-Quao, and Peter Obi.
However, just a few hours before the event, the government directed the organizers to call it off. This unexpected decision has left both the organizers and attendees devastated and shocked, especially since the event had received government approval back in November 2023.
The New Africa Foundation, the organizing body, extends its heartfelt apologies to everyone who was looking forward to the event and emphasizes that this unfortunate situation was completely beyond their control.
