Togbe Afede won’t reject Mahama’s running mate offer –Asogli State

The Asogli State Council has confirmed that Togbe Afede XIV, the Agbogbomefia of Asogli, has expressed his willingness to accept the position of running mate if offered by John Dramani Mahama, the flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC). This confirmation came through a press release issued by the Council on February 13, following a visit from a group called “Change Forum Makers” that discussed the matter.

In the statement, Togbe Afede XIV reiterated his readiness to serve the nation and made it clear that he would not reject any opportunity to do so. However, he emphasized that the final decision on choosing a running mate lies with Mr. Mahama and that his choice cannot be influenced or manipulated by anyone else.

Additionally, the Council clarified that Togbe Afede has not appointed any person or group to advocate for his candidacy as Mr. Mahama’s running mate.

The statement was issued in response to recent rumors connecting Togbe Afede to the possibility of becoming John Mahama’s running mate for the 2024 Presidential election.
