During the 2nd Matriculation Ceremony at the University of Media, Arts, and Communication (UniMAC), Prof. Eric Opoku Mensah, the Acting Vice-Chancellor, encouraged newly admitted students to embrace curiosity and creativity. The event, which took place on the South Legon Campus on February 23rd, combined both physical and virtual participation, reflecting the university’s growth agenda.

Prof. Opoku Mensah’s address served as a source of inspiration for incoming students and the wider UniMAC community, emphasizing the importance of seeking support, collaborating, and striving for positive change in society. He highlighted the university’s commitment to providing an engaging learning environment and encouraged students to tap into their innovative potential to address complex challenges.

The ceremony welcomed a select group of students in person, while others joined virtually to ensure inclusivity and accessibility. Prof. Opoku Mensah stressed the significance of curiosity in driving intellectual growth and discovery, as well as the power of collaboration in effecting positive social change within the UniMAC community.

By seamlessly blending physical and virtual elements, the matriculation ceremony showcased UniMAC’s adaptability and resilience in the face of challenges. Prof. Opoku Mensah expressed gratitude to participants for their support and enthusiasm, reaffirming the university’s dedication to academic excellence, student experience, and success.

As UniMAC continues to shape the future of media, arts, and communication professionals, the 2nd matriculation ceremony exemplifies its legacy of excellence and commitment to empowering students to reach their full potential. The university is the result of the merger between the former Ghana Institute of Journalism (GIJ), the Ghana Institute of Languages (GIL), and the National Film and Television Institute (NAFTI).
