GaDangme Council unveils strategic blueprint

The Gadangme Heritage Committee has unveiled a strategic blueprint for the years 2024-2029 that aims to transform Gadangme into a center of innovation and educational excellence. The plan, which was revealed at a ceremony in Accra, focuses on providing quality education for all members of the Ga community and addressing the shortage of GaDangme teachers in schools.

Additionally, the blueprint emphasizes the need for inclusive education and professional development for educators. Collaboration with local businesses, organizations, and academic institutions is seen as essential for progress. The Chairman of the Heritage Committee highlighted the importance of the strategic plan in ensuring a brighter future for future generations. Collaboration with the Accra college of education has been established to train more GaDangme teachers, with efforts made to ensure that these teachers are not posted outside the region after their studies.

MP for Ningo Prampram, Hon Sam Dzata George, stressed the importance of promoting Gadangme and fighting for the right of Ga children to learn their language. The President of the GaDangme Council called for greater visibility of GaDangme language and culture in the media and encouraged parents to speak the language to their children.

During the launch event, Chairman Dr. Eben Anuwah-Amarh emphasized the importance of the blueprint in realizing a brighter future for the GaDangme community. Collaboration with the Accra College of Education has already begun, with plans to train more GaDangme teachers and ensure they remain in the region after completing their studies. Additionally, MP for Ningo-Prampram Hon. Sam George highlighted the importance of fighting for the rights of Gadangme individuals in education, noting the issue of students being posted outside the region after studying GaDangme.
