Senegal’s Prez Macky Sall dissolves gov’t

Senegalese President Macky Sall has dissolved the government and appointed Sidiki Kaba as the new prime minister, according to African Editors’ sources. Presidential election in Senegal is scheduled for March 24, 2024.

Kaba replaced Amadou Ba who had been prime minister since September 2022. Ba is the presidential coalition candidate in the next presidential election.

Kaba had assumed the posts of justice minister, foreign minister and interior minister in the previous governments of Sall.
