Ex-Chelsea Star Geremi files for divorce
Former Chelsea FC star Geremi, 45, is currently pursuing a divorce following the revelation that the children he had raised were biologically fathered by his wife’s previous partner. Recently leaked court papers from Cameroon disclosed that the retired midfielder was informed that the twins he believed to be his own were actually born from his wife Laure’s former marriage.
The documents indicated that Laure’s actions had disrupted the peace of their marriage through deceitful behavior and repeated dishonesty. According to the court papers, the twins, born in June 2008, before Geremi and Laure tied the knot, have been attributed to her pre-existing relationship. The absence of their biological children from the marriage further amplified the strain caused by the discovery of the twins’ true paternity.
Describing the situation as a significant emotional upheaval, Geremi expressed feeling psychologically scarred by the news, which was confirmed through a paternity test. He views this revelation as a grave violation of marriage’s fundamental responsibilities and obligations, reported by the Mirror.
Having played for Chelsea from 2003 to 2007, winning two Premier League titles during his tenure, Geremi previously achieved success with Real Madrid, securing a La Liga title and two Champions League triumphs. Furthermore, he spent a season on loan at Middlesbrough before joining Chelsea.
