John Paintsil sues 4 journalists for ₵80m in damages

Former Ghanaian Footballer and newly appointed assistant coach of the Black Stars, John Paintsil, has filed a defamation lawsuit against four Ghanaian sports journalists and three media companies. The journalists named in the lawsuit are Veronica Commey, Saddick Adams, Christopher Nimley, and Patrick Osei Agyemang, also known as Countryman Songo. The media companies being sued are Omni Media Limited, Angel Broadcasting Network, and Multimedia Group.

The legal action comes in response to comments made by the defendants during a television show, where they allegedly made defamatory remarks about Paintsil.
