Russian FM holds bilateral talks with BRICS counterparts
Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov met with his counterparts from Brazil, South Africa, Iran, Laos, Thailand, and Ethiopia during the BRICS foreign ministers’ summit in Nizhny Novgorod, Russia. The summit, held on 10-11 June, precedes a larger BRICS summit in October in Kazan, Russia. Iran’s acting Foreign Minister Ali Bagheri expressed gratitude for Russia’s condolences following a crash that killed Iranian President Ibrahim Raisi and others in May. Lavrov reaffirmed Moscow’s support for Iran’s commitment to continued cooperation in all areas.
