I have no plans to run for MP – Charlotte Osei
Former Chairperson of the Electoral Commission of Ghana, Charlotte Osei, has expressed that she has no interest in running for Member of Parliament (MP). She clarified that she is not affiliated with any political party and has no plans to join one.
During an interview on Joy FM’s Personality Profile on August 8, Charlotte Osei stated, “I have never wanted to be a Member of Parliament, and I still have no desire to pursue that path. It is not a goal I have set for myself.”
She further emphasized, “I do not aspire to be a good or bad Member of Parliament.”
Charlotte Osei reflected on the challenges she faced in and out of office, including a circulating poster in December 2018 suggesting she was a candidate for MP in Ayawaso West Wuogon Constituency. Despite these difficulties, she acknowledged the unwavering support of her family during this tumultuous period.
