2024 Parliamentary election results: Provisional winners so far

The results of the 2024 parliamentary elections mark a significant shift in Ghana’s political landscape, with the National Democratic Congress (NDC) securing key victories, including the ousting of several prominent New Patriotic Party (NPP) Members of Parliament (MPs).

Retained seats

Agnes Naa Momo Lartey (NDC): Retained Krowor Constituency with 39,198 votes, defeating NPP’s Emmanuel Laryea Odai (23,116 votes).

Oti Bless (NDC): Secured a fourth term for Nkwanta-North with 25,402 votes, defeating NPP’s Nador (22,733 votes).

Alhassan Suhuyini (NDC): Re-elected for Tamale North with 28,521 votes, surpassing his opponent’s 12,317 votes.

Samuel Atta Mills (NDC): Retained Komenda-Edina-Eguafo-Abrem (KEEA) seat with 30,220 votes, ahead of NPP’s Dennis Percyval Quaicoe (17,675 votes).

Ibrahim Mutala Mohammed (NDC): Won Tamale Central with 52,263 votes, defeating NPP’s Sule Salifu (16,647 votes).

Rashid Pelpuo (NDC): Retained Wa Central with 38,579 votes, beating NPP’s Hajia Humu Awudu (30,724 votes).

Zanetor Agyemang-Rawlings (NDC): Re-elected for Klottey Korle with 39,700 votes, defeating NPP’s Valentino Nii Noi Nortey (23,558 votes).

Key gains by the NDC

Emelia Ankomah (NDC): Made history by flipping Upper Denkyira East, winning with 24,426 votes against NPP’s Dr. Awuah Kwofie (18,895 votes).

Felix Ofosu Kwakye (NDC): Took the Abura-Asebu-Kwamankese seat with 30,607 votes, defeating NPP’s Eric Kobina Nyanteh (19,598 votes).

Godwin Animli Dorgbadzi Dorani (NDC): Unseated veteran MP KT Hammond in Adansi Asokwa with 14,229 votes, surpassing Hammond’s 13,275 votes.

Rev. Kweku Addo (NDC): Defeated incumbent Ursula Owusu-Ekuful in Ablekuma West with 31,866 votes to her 26,575.

Abdul Rauf Tongym Tubazu (NDC): Won Ayawaso Central with 29,755 votes, beating NPP’s Henry Quartey (23,345 votes).

Okle Felix Akwetey (NDC): Secured Bortianor Ngleshie Amanfro with 37,473 votes, ahead of NPP’s Sylvester Tetteh (27,888 votes).

Rachel Owusuaa (NDC): Narrowly defeated NPP’s Twum Barimah in Dormaa East, polling 12,310 votes to his 12,050 votes.

Prince Ebenezer Arhin (NDC): Unseated Ophelia Mensah Hayford in Mfantseman with 35,832 votes.

NPP Holds Ground in Tano North

Gideon Boako (NPP): Retained Tano North with 21,127 votes, defeating NDC’s Pious Opoku.

Other notable winners

Ahmed Ibrahim (NDC): Retained Banda with 9,150 votes, defeating NPP’s Joe Danquah (8,010 votes).

Alfred Kotey Ashie (NDC): Won Odododiodioo with 38,473 votes, beating NPP’s Abdul Mannaf Sowah (24,877 votes).

Dr. Kurt Nawaane (NDC): Defended Nabdam with 11,192 votes, defeating NPP’s Charles T. Ndanbon (6,680 votes).

Charles Asiedu (NDC): Ousted NPP’s Benjamin Yeboah Sekyere in Tano South with 20,595 votes to Sekyere’s 18,697 votes.

Blay Nyameke Armah (NDC): Triumphed in Sekondi with 14,558 votes, defeating NPP’s Andrew Kofi Egyapa Mercer (11,084 votes).

George Kweku Ricketts-Hagan (NDC): Retained Cape Coast South with 21,277 votes, beating NPP’s Ernest Arthur (14,163 votes).

Ohene Kwame Frimpong (Independent): Defeated NPP’s Andy Appiah-Kubi in Asante Akyem North with 26,926 votes to Appiah-Kubi’s 8,933 votes.

Dr. Dominic Ayine (NDC): Retained Bolgatanga East with 12,002 votes, defeating NPP’s Mathew Silas Amoah (7,415 votes).

Rita Naa Odoley Sowah (NDC): Held onto La Dadekotopon with 16,976 votes, beating NPP’s Joseph Addo (8,410 votes).

Kojo Oppong Nkrumah (NPP): Retained Ofoase Ayirebi with 18,601 votes, surpassing NDC’s Alfred Osei-Poku (13,415 votes).

Nurein Shiabu Migyimah (NDC): Won Assin Central with 16,343 votes, defeating NPP’s Godfred Anewu (15,926 votes).

Seid Mubarak (NDC): Won Sunyani East, defeating incumbent Kwasi Ameyaw-Cheremeh (NPP) with 34,453 votes to Ameyaw-Cheremeh’s 22,306 votes.

Michael Okyere Baafi (NPP): Retained New Juaben South with 32,134 votes, defeating NDC’s Dr. Martin Otu Offei (23,735 votes).

Dr. Mohammed Amin Adams (NPP): Retained Karaga with 28,155 votes, defeating NDC’s Sualihu Alhassan Dandawa (22,409 votes).

Sammi Awuku (NPP): Won Akuapim North with 28,365 votes, defeating NDC’s John Evans Kumordzi (14,217 votes).

Phillis Naa Koryoo Okunnor (NDC): Unseated Mavis Hawa Koomson in Awutu Senya East with 50,886 votes, defeating Koomson’s 46,638 votes.

Mohammed Adamu Ramadan (NDC): Retained Adentan, becoming the first MP to successfully defend the seat with 56,303 votes, defeating NPP’s Akosua Asaa Manu (35,143 votes).

Abdulai Abu Baba Abubakar Sadiq (NDC): Won Okaikwei Central.

Sedem Kweku Afenyo (NDC): Won Amansaman with 53,759 votes, beating NPP’s Yahya Kassim Atta (39,525 votes).

Jerry Ahmed Shaib (NPP): Won Weija-Gbawe with 32,608 votes, defeating NDC’s Felix Odartey Lamptey (30,460 votes).

Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa (NDC): Retained North Tongu with 41,073 votes, surpassing Dr. John Savior Eleblu Yao (3,035 votes).

Fred Agbenyo (NDC): Elected MP for Guan with 9,963 votes, beating NPP’s Michael Osibo (2,998 votes) and NDP’s Sussie Sekor (82 votes).

Kwame Dzudzorli Gakpey (NDC): Retained Keta with 29,471 votes, defeating NPP’s Hope Courage Goldberg-Grimm Leketey (2,850 votes).

Jean-Marie Formadi (NDC): Won Biakoye with 17,760 votes, defeating NPP’s Dr. Frank Yirenkyi (9,696 votes).

Alexander Hotordze (NDC): Retained Central Tongu with 25,437 votes.

Geoffrey Kini (NDC): Retained Nkwanta South with 26,385 votes, defeating NPP’s Sherifa Sekyere-Tijani (18,385 votes).

Abla Dzifa Gomashie (NDC): Retained Ketu South with 78,902 votes, defeating NPP’s Wisdom Petit Samuel Doe Haligah (6,033 votes).

Faustina Elikplim Akurugu (NDC): Defeated NPP’s Mike Oquaye Jr. in Dome Kwabenya with 51,634 votes to Oquaye Jr.’s 50,477 votes.

These provisional results show the NDC’s significant gains in the 2024 election, with a mixture of retained strongholds and key wins in previously contested areas.
