‘No fees stress’ policy: 24,321 more processed

Relief for thousands as over 24,000 students benefit from Mahama’s “No fees stress” Policy

In a significant boost to education accessibility, the Students Loan Trust Fund (SLTF) has announced that academic fee reimbursements have been successfully processed for an additional 24,321 students across various tertiary institutions in Ghana. This milestone is part of former President John Dramani Mahama’s flagship “No Fees Stress” policy.

Breaking financial barriers

The newly processed reimbursements mark a crucial step in eliminating the financial burdens many students face in pursuing higher education. The initiative is designed to ensure that no Ghanaian student is denied tertiary education due to the inability to pay fees.

“This brings renewed relief to thousands of Ghanaian students and reaffirms our commitment to breaking financial barriers to tertiary education,” the SLTF stated in an official public notice.

A total commitment to equal opportunity

SLTF emphasized that the goal of the policy is not only financial relief but also the promotion of equal access, dignity, and timely support for all beneficiaries. The Fund reaffirmed its ongoing dedication to upholding these values.

“This effort underscores our mission to guarantee that every student, regardless of background, has the opportunity to achieve academic success,” said the Corporate Communications Directorate of SLTF.

A step forward for Ghana’s educational future

Education analysts have praised the update as a positive indication of the government’s investment in youth development and the long-term socio-economic benefits of a well-educated population. As more students continue to benefit from the initiative, the SLTF’s role remains pivotal in ensuring timely disbursements and transparent processes.

About the “No fees stress” Policy

Introduced under the leadership of H.E John Dramani Mahama, the “No Fees Stress” policy aims to eradicate fee-related dropouts and help bridge inequality in Ghana’s tertiary education sector. It is part of a broader vision to empower the next generation with the tools and support needed to succeed in a competitive world.
