Mahama to embark on one-day working visit to W/R Tuesday

NDC’s BIG PUSH Programme rolls forward with key infrastructure projects

The National Democratic Congress (NDC), through its Western Regional Communication Bureau, has announced a significant development as His Excellency John Dramani Mahama, President of the Republic of Ghana, prepares to embark on a one-day working visit to the Western Region on Tuesday, October 21st, 2025.

This visit forms part of the NDC government’s continued commitment to delivering on its promises, particularly under the ambitious BIG PUSH Program, aimed at fast-tracking critical infrastructure development across the country.

Major Campaign Promise: Sekondi-Takoradi to Cape Coast Highway Dualization

A major highlight of President Mahama’s visit will be the sod-cutting ceremony for the Sekondi-Takoradi to Cape Coast highway dualization project. This long-awaited road expansion is expected to significantly improve transportation efficiency and road safety between two of Ghana’s key coastal cities.

The project is seen as a direct fulfillment of a major campaign promise made by the NDC to the people of the Western Region and forms part of the broader national agenda to revamp infrastructure and stimulate economic growth in the region.

Focus on Healthcare: Effia Nkwanta Hospital Expansion and More

In addition to the road project, President Mahama will inspect ongoing expansion works at the Effia Nkwanta Regional Hospital, a flagship health facility in the region. The hospital’s upgrade is crucial to improving healthcare delivery and ensuring residents have access to quality medical services.

The President is also scheduled to visit other ongoing health infrastructure projects to assess progress and reaffirm the government’s dedication to enhancing the health sector, especially in underserved communities.

Commitment to Development and Accountability

The NDC’s Western Regional Communication Officer, Richard Kirk-Mensah, who signed the release, emphasized that the President’s visit is part of efforts to ensure transparency, monitor progress, and engage with local stakeholders.

This one-day tour is expected to energize the region’s developmental agenda while reinforcing the NDC’s strong commitment to delivering real, tangible results that improve the lives of Ghanaians.

For further information, the press release encourages the public and media to stay engaged and follow developments throughout the President’s visit.
