Programme Manager of National/STI Control Programme, Dr. Stephen Ayisi Addo is cautioning patients who intentionally transmit HIV/AIDS infection to others will be indicted and dragged before court for trial under the laws of Ghana.
Ghana AIDS Commission has raised caution after its fact-sheet shows that the highly risky sexual exercises among young women and men is the significant reason for the rising HIV/AIDS disease rate.
Right now, around 342, 304 people are living with HIV/AIDS in Ghana.
As indicated by Program Manager of National/STI Control Program, Dr. Stephen Ayisi Addo, a surprising 80% of HIV/AIDS cases in Ghana is brought about by sex in light of the fact that more established old-aged individuals pursuing young people.
“You discover more established old-aged individuals with cash exploiting youngsters, engaging in sexual relations with them as a trade-off for money. It is a financial issue where youthful ones are relying upon the more seasoned men or ladies with the money to endure while offering sex for it”.
Aside this, Dr. Ayisi Addo noticed that “Ghana Health Service has short of what one month supply of condoms and we need to fall on outside elements for condoms”.
As far as I might be concerned, “Ghana Education Service should make the learning of HIV/AIDS as a feature of the school’s syllabus so the school girls and boys are taken through over everything towards . That has been our idea. For the time being, the schools won’t permit you to show understudies HIV/AIDS since they think you are basically coming to show them how to utilize condoms, especially the strict schools”.
Adding to the discussion, HIV/AIDS Ambassador Rev. John Azumah says the “greatest hindrance in the sensitisation drive on HIV/AIDS are the barriers we face at schools where they scarcely grant those of us entrusted with the obligation to increase training for avoidance. That is a contributor to the issue”.
