VIDEO: Shatta Wale remanded into police custody for 5 days
Ghanaian Dancehall Artist Shatta Wale has been remanded into police custody by the Accra Circuit Court.
Shatta Wale was arrested together with two others for creating fear and panic that he has been shot dead.
But, priliminary investigations revealed that Shatta Wale peddled untruth on social media.
He has been in police custody since his arrest and made first appearance in court today.
The Circuit Court in Accra has remanded Dancehall Artiste Charles Nii Amarh Mensah prominently known as Shatta Wale into police care for five days.
This was after Shatta Wale argued not liable to the charges of publication of bogus news that caused dread and frenzy in the public domain.
Three other people who showed up in court with him Kojo Owusu Koranteng, Shatta’s own collaborator, Eric Vanetor, a visual originator and Iddrisu Yussif, a cosmetologist were charged for abetment of criminal distribution of bogus news.
Every one of the accused persons argued not liable and have been remanded into police care.
African Editors’ Correspondent reports that the court presided over by Emmanuel Marvin Essandoh while remanding the accused persons into police custody said the interest for the general population is foremost.
