2022 Budget: Ofori-Atta’s 90% completion of Essipon Stadium inaccurate- Joe Ghartey

“My findings contradict Finance Minister’s claim that rehabilitation of Essipon Stadium is 90% complete”, Assikado-Ketan Member of Parliament, Former Attorney General and Minister of Justice Joe Ghartey queries Youth and Sports Minister Mustapha Yussif for clarification.

In a letter supposedly written by Joe Ghartey and addressed to the Youth and Sports Minister Mustapha Yussif on November 19, 2021, intercepted by African Editors, the Immediate-Past Railways Development Minister Lawyer Joe Ghartey insists “the Finance Minister in the Budget Statement delivered on Wednesday 17, 2021 stated that the rehabilitation works on the Essipon Stadium is 90% completed. My checks reveal otherwise. As MP for the area, I would be very grateful if you could furnish me with update with the said project which is located in my constituency”.

“Furthermore, if the information is inaccurate, please furnish the Finance Minister with the accurate information to enable him advise himself accordingly. The project is of great interest to me and my constituents”, Joe Ghartey asked Sports Minister.
