Chaotic scene broke out during protest by unarmed residents of Ejura in the Ashanti Region involving the police and military which led to the death of two and with two others hospitalized in a community that has already broken tears over the loss of Ibrahim Mohammed (Kaaka).
The incidence received a backlash due to sporadic shooting of civilians by the military, forcing President Akufo-Addo to compel Interior Minister Ambrose Dery to constitute a committee to investigate the matter.
The committee led by Appeal Court Justice George Koomson also includes International Relations Expert Dr. Vladimir Antwi Danso, Executive Director of Penblusbytes Juliet Amoah as members and Principal State Attorney Louis Simmons as Secretary.
The committee has a task to investigate the incidence and produce recommendations in a report to deal with the issue and future policy planning in order to strengthen any rough edge found among the police and military over unresolved security breaches.
