A celebration of life: Honouring Mrs. Alberta Kirk-Mensah
Family, friends, and loved ones are gathering to bid a heartfelt farewell to the late Mrs. Alberta Kirk-Mensah, a beloved matriarch whose legacy of warmth, kindness, and service continues to touch many. Her final journey will be marked by a series of solemn and celebratory events in Sekondi, Ghana.
Pre-burial and burial service: A solemn Mass in her honour
At 7:30 a.m. on the same morning, a pre-burial and burial service will take place at the St. Paul’s Pro-Cathedral Catholic Church in Sekondi. The mass will be a solemn yet hopeful celebration of Mrs. Kirk-Mensah’s devout faith and enduring impact within her church community. Clergy, choir, and congregants will gather to pay tribute and commend her soul to eternal rest.
Funeral reception: A gathering of love and memories
Immediately following the burial, the funeral rites and reception will be held at the Sekondi Railway Station, located near European Town. This reception is expected to draw mourners from near and far, offering a time of communal support, storytelling, and shared memories as guests come together to honor her life.
Thanksgiving Service: A time for gratitude
On Sunday, 27th April 2025, the family will reconvene at St. Paul’s Pro-Cathedral Church at 10:00 a.m. for a Thanksgiving Service. This service will offer an opportunity to thank God for the life of Mrs. Kirk-Mensah and for the strength of the family through this time of loss.
Final funeral rites and family gathering: Coming home
Following the Thanksgiving service, the final funeral rites and a family gathering will be held at her Sekondi residence at House No. PT 3C, Sekondi Ridge Bungalow. This gathering will mark the closing of the formal observances, allowing the family to come together in love and unity, cherishing the legacy Mrs. Alberta Kirk-Mensah leaves behind.
