Abraham Amaliba appointed Ag. Dir-Gen of National Road Safety Authority
The President of the Republic of Ghana has appointed Mr. Abraham Amaliba as the Acting Director-General of the National Road Safety Authority (NRSA), effective January 23, 2025.
The appointment was officially communicated in a letter from the Office of the President, signed by Dr. Callistus Mahama, Secretary to the President.
The letter outlined that the appointment complies with Article 195(1) of the Constitution and Section 13(2) of the National Road Safety Authority Act, 2019 (Act 993).
It further noted that Mr. Amaliba will serve in an acting capacity until the NRSA Governing Board, in consultation with the Public Services Commission, provides the constitutionally required advice.
The letter also requested Mr. Amaliba to confirm his acceptance of the appointment within 14 days.
The President wished Mr. Amaliba success in his new role.
As Acting Director-General, Mr. Amaliba will be under close scrutiny to deliver effective leadership. He currently serves as the Director of Conflict Resolution for the governing NDC.
