Acting Ghana Gas CEO meets mgt of Snr Staff Association
The executives of the Ghana Gas Senior Staff Association (GGSSA) have expressed their full support for the vision of the Acting CEO of Ghana National Gas Limited, Ing. Dr. Robert Kofi Lartey. This support was conveyed during the Acting CEO’s first meeting with the association’s executives, as part of ongoing engagements with key stakeholders of the company.
Dr. Lartey expressed his gratitude to the GGSSA executives for their continued backing of his leadership, nomination, and the broader objectives of the company.
The Senior Staff Association plays a critical role in minimizing losses within the company’s processes, with the company heavily relying on the professionalism and dedication of its members.
Ing. Dr. Robert Kofi Lartey highlighted several key welfare priorities, including:
Enhancing recreational facilities
Reviewing collective bargaining agreements
Improving transportation and logistics
Revising performance appraisal systems
Implementing infrastructural projects to improve operational capacity and revenue generation
The GGSSA executives expressed their appreciation to Dr. Lartey for sharing his vision and expectations. They committed to providing unwavering support, acknowledging his deep industry knowledge and his understanding of the Association’s concerns.
In a related development, Ghana National Gas Limited has recently attained ISO 14001 (Environmental Management) and ISO 45001 (Occupational Health & Safety) certifications, a milestone that underscores the company’s commitment to sustainable operations and the highest health and safety standards in the energy sector.
During the certification announcement, Acting CEO Dr. Lartey expressed pride in this accomplishment, recognizing the efforts of both current and past leadership in achieving the certifications.
“These certifications reflect our strong commitment to conducting business responsibly while prioritizing the safety of our employees and minimizing our environmental impact. This achievement is a result of the collective efforts of our workforce, as well as the dedication of the HSE Operations Department, ISO Project Team, and Management,” Dr. Lartey stated.
Ghana Gas began its ISO certification journey in November 2019, although the process faced delays due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Despite these setbacks, the company successfully obtained ISO 45001 certification in April 2022 and expanded its scope to include ISO 14001 in early 2024.
As part of its ongoing pursuit of excellence, Ghana Gas is now preparing for ISO 9001 certification (Quality Management System), with the theme: “A Future of Excellence: Triple ISO Certification – Our Commitment to Quality, Environment, and Safety.”
This achievement reinforces Ghana Gas’ leadership in the industry, showcasing its dedication to best practices, environmental sustainability, and operational excellence.
