AFCON Finals: Mane inspires Senegal to beat B.Faso

The Taranga Lions of Senegal have booked their place in the finals of the ongoing African Cup of Nations( AFCON) after beating Stubborn Burkina Faso by three goals to one on Wednesday evening.

It was difficult first half with Senegal making early incursions, but Burkina Faso held them and managed to soak the pressure.

The Stallions came into the game created some few and decent chances but couldn’t make good use them.

Senegal started the second half much stronger after two changes. They kept pilling pressure until the moment came when they had a corner kick which led to the first goal, after Burkina failed to cleared their lines and Kalidou Koulibaly bicycle kick found Abdou Diallo who found the back of the net.

Idrissa Gueye made it two goals for Senegal after Sadio Mane smartly took the ball from Burkina Faso defender on the edge of the penalty.

But Blati Toure narrowed the deficit in the 82nd minute.
But Mane chipped in to sealed the victory for the tournament favourites.

The second semifinal between the host Cameroon and seven times Champion Egypt will come off tomorrow, and the winner will face Senegal on Sunday.

Meanwhile, Burkina Faso will wait for the loser of Egypt, Cameroon to battle it out for third and fourth place.
