Agotime Adedome installs new chief

On 6th June, 2024, the king makers of Agotime Adedome officially enstooled Nene Adela Tachie Tuafo IV as the new chief of the community. The installation process began on 30th May, 2024, with the chief and his two linguists being confined in a sacred room for training on the customs and traditions of Agotime land.

Various chiefs and elders from different parts of Agotime, including Ghana and Togo, visited them during their confinement to impart knowledge on the traditions of the land. After eight days, they were presented to the community in a colorful ceremony, with the support of powerful and influential chiefs of Agotime.

Following the passing of Nene Adela Tachie Tuafo III in May 2021, the community had been under the leadership of Regent Agbo Jomo and JJ Butu. The decision to install a new chief was made after consultations by the king makers.

Nene Adela Tachie Tuafo IV, who is well-educated and has strong communication skills, has brought a sense of optimism and jubilation to the community with his successful installation. Many believe that his leadership will bring peace, unity, and development to Agotime Adedome. Plans for the late chief’s funeral will be announced soon.
