Anti-gay battle: Bishop Agyinasare anoints Sam George
Ningo-Prampram Member of Parliament Sam Nartey George has received special prayers from his Bishop to intensify anti-homosexuality- gayism and lesbianism fight for a new law that criminalises the acts and advocacy.
Seven NDC Members of Parliament except NPP Lawmaker John Ntim Fourdjour led by Sam George introduced Promotion of Proper Sexual Human Rights and Ghanaian Family Values Bill to parliament of Ghana.
The bill has since been laid in the floor of Parliament and referred to Constitutional Parliamentary and Legal Affairs Committee.
The bill if passed into law, will criminalise Homosexuality-gayism, lesbianism and advocacy, proscribing a hasher punishment for culprits.
18 intellectuals, professors, Journalists and lawyers strongly opposed to the Bill have been defending gay rights in Ghana amid petitions to parliament to reject the proposed law.
As the debate on the controversial bill gather momentum ahead of parliament’s resumption, ”Founder and Presiding Bishop of Perez Chapel where Sam George fellowships, Charles Agyinasare, shower prayers on Sam George the Ningo-Prampram MP, an elder of the his church, for the ‘task’ ahead before the close of service.
In what appears to be a classical seeking of divine intervention and providence hands of the Creator and controller of universe, Bishop Charles Agyinasare said “For this battle, You [God] will bring a new anointing upon him and great grace. We say no weapon fashioned against you shall prosper…protect him, protect his family,” Bishop Agyinasare prayed”,
Recognising the support and of his spiritual father, the MP Sam George took to Facebook and posted that “Thanks so much, Papa, Bishop Charles Agyinasare, for always standing with me through thick and thin. I believe the GOD who called you would never let us down. We shall succeed. We shall prevail”.
