BoG revises momo transaction limits of wallets upwards

The Bank of Ghana (BoG) has increased the balance and transaction limits for customers’ mobile money wallets effective March 1, 2024.

According to a statement from the Ghana Chamber of Telecommunications, this adjustment reflects the growing trends in transactional activities and changing customer needs.

For daily transaction limits, the minimum account limit has been raised from GH¢2,000 to GH¢3,000, the medium account limit has increased from GH¢10,000 to GH¢15,000, and the enhanced account limit has been raised from GH¢15,000 to GH¢25,000.

In terms of maximum accounts, the minimum account limit has been raised from GH¢3,000 to GH¢5,000, the medium account limit has increased from GH¢25,000 to GH¢40,000, and the enhanced account limit has been raised from GH¢50,000 to GH¢75,000.

For monthly transaction limits, the minimum account limit has been increased from GH¢6,000 to GH¢10,000, while the limits for medium and enhanced accounts remain unchanged.

Customers are advised to contact the customer service centers of member organizations for further clarification.
