Burkina’s court adjourns Sankara trial to October 25
The trial of the 1987 death of Thomas Sankara has been suspended to October 25 after defense Counsel requested more period to set up their case.
Two guard attorneys, delegated by the court, had requested a deferment of the trial by one month “for the sake of reality”, contending that they had not had sufficient enough period
to contemplate “the 20,000 archives in the document”.
“The demand of the litigants’ for additional timeframe to analyze the reports in the record is a request that appeared to us to be all around established on a basic level, which is the reason, as guidance for the common party, we didn’t figure a specific complaints. They requested one month, the court allowed them fourteen days, we accept that this is a reasonable time,” Judge Ambroise Farama, the plaintiff’s counsel said.
Then again, he dismissed the request to record the discussions on camera as requested by the common party.
The plaintiff’s counsel is expected to file the processes for future references by the more youthful ages.
