Concerned Drivers Association of Ghana(C-DAG)
Sunday, 16TH January, 2022
For Immediate Release
Suspension Of 40% Increment of Transport Fares
1. Leadership of the aforementioned association wishes to inform all its members to hold on with the increment of Transport fares by 40% as communicated in our earlier statement.
2. That Members are to stick to the old operational fares for all journeys through out the country.
3. We have not totally forgone the increment of Transport fares.
4. That the public outcry that met our earlier announcement has been considered. In view of that, a meeting shall be conveyed between leadership, Coalition of Transport Operators which comprises of GPRTU and other major stakeholders on Tuesday, January 18, 2022.
5. We wish to reiterate to our fellow Ghanaian Citizens and other nationals residing here in our country that, even today, the prices of fuel commodities have been adjusted upwards. A development further fortifying our quest to have fares increased. This latest development has caused us to rethink our decision to have our earlier proposal reduced a bit.
6. We therefore entreat all our drivers to stick to the old Transport fares and wait until an update from leadership on Wednesday. Thank you.
Sgd.
