Charles Assibey rejects appointment to Bawumia’s manifesto c’ttee

Charles Osei Asibey, President of the Africa Armwrestling Federation and Vice President of the World Armwrestling Federation, has declined an invitation to serve on Dr. Bawumia’s 2024 Campaign Manifesto Sub-Committee on Youth and Sports.

In a statement released on February 25, 2024, Asibey cited his commitment to remaining neutral in politics and maintaining impartiality in his leadership roles within the sporting community. He emphasized the importance of keeping politics separate from sports and ensuring fairness and integrity in the sport.
