C’ttee probing CJ petitions to begin hearings tomorrow

A five-member committee, chaired by Supreme Court Justice Gabriel Scott Pwamang, will begin hearings tomorrow, Thursday, May 15, 2025, into three separate petitions lodged against Chief Justice Gertrude Torkornoo.

The committee was set up by President John Dramani Mahama under Article 146(6) of the 1992 Constitution, following consultations with the Council of State and a determination that a prima facie case exists.

The panel is expected to meet three times a week and will present its findings and recommendations to the President upon completing its investigation.
