Dec 7 election: EC to transport ballot papers to 16 regions from Nov. 14

The Electoral Commission of Ghana (EC) will begin transporting ballot papers for the December 7, 2024 elections to regions across the country starting from November 14, 2024.

This was communicated in a letter to the General Secretaries of all political parties, dated November 13, and signed by Samuel Tetteh, the Deputy Chairman in charge of Operations.

“I extend warm greetings from the Electoral Commission and hope this letter finds you well. This is to inform you that the transportation of ballot papers to the various regions will commence tomorrow, Thursday, November 14, 2024,” Mr. Tetteh wrote.

The transfer of these important election documents is a significant step in the EC’s preparations for the upcoming election. The ballot papers will be securely stored under police custody until Election Day, when they will be distributed to election officials in the presence of party agents.
