Dome-Kwabenya to install new Igbo Sub-Chief Okudaa-Ibube I Sunday November 28

The Kingmaker of Dome-Kwabenya Nii Ofoli Mankralo will on Sunday November 28, 2021 install Dr. Tony Ulasi as an Igbo Sub-Chief (Eze-Udo) for the area. He will known and called Okuadaa-Ibube I of Dome-Kwabenya after installation to steer the affairs whilst fostering the development agenda of the area.

The Igbo Community in Ghana under the paramountcy of King of Igbo-Ghana His Royal Majesty Eze Dr. Chukwudi Jude Ihenetu, will be crowning the Sub-Chief in Dome-Kwabenya under the traditional area led by Nii Ofoli Mankralo of Dome-Kwabenya.

The coronation ceremony will take place at the residence of the incoming Igbo Sub-Chief, Eze-Udo Dr. Tony Ulasi who will be known and called Okudaa-Ibube I of Dome-Kwabenya within Koans Estate off Pokuase to Kwabena Road, ACP Estate Junction, Accra-Ghana.

The coronation ceremony will commence on Sunday 12 noon of November 28, 2021.

Speaking to African Editors on Friday 12 November 2021 in Accra ahead of the coronation ceremony, Igbo-Ghana King His Royal Majesty Eze Dr. Chukwudi Jude Ihenetu said “We as foreigners can’t install a Chief in the land of Ghana without the approval of the owners of the land. Gbese Mantse Nii Ayi Bonte II has given his approval for the installation. We’re very glad that the Gbese Mantse and Nii Ofoli Mankralo of Dome-Kwabenya have given approval for the installation of the new Eze Dr. Tony Ulasi”.

Igbo-Ghana King His Royal Majesty Eze Dr. Chukwudi Jude Ihenetu noted that “We’re promising the Government of Ghana and the indigenous people of Ghana, that we will be law-abiding, that we must respect the laws of Ghana, and through the installation of various chiefs, we’re reaching out to our people to obey the Constitution of Ghana, whilst strengthening the relationship between the two countries in the area of culture and tradition”.

“We’re inviting all to celebrate the Igbo culture with us together. It will help the development agenda and collective security, collaboration with the police to Foster peaceful atmosphere, champion insfratructure and others of the Dome-Kwabenya area.

Speaking ahead of the coronation ceremony, Nii Ofoli Mankralo of Dome-Kwabenya told African Editors that “the traditional ceremony will start with ushering-in of visitors, dignitaries, guests, the Mankralo and his retinue, followed by pouring of libation by the Stool Father, Seitse of Dome-Kwabenya Traditional Authority”.

After that, the Stool Father will handover Dr. Tony Ulasi to Nii Ofoli Mankralo of Dome-Kwabenya.

Nii Ofoli Mankralo of Dome-Kwabenya is expected to interview Dr. Tony Ulasi to spell out his (Ulasi) agenda for the community and Ghana as a whole.

Dr. Tony Ulasi, new Eze will be given the opportunity to outline his vision and how he intends to collaborate with the chiefs and elders in the land to foster development, fight crime and strengthen relationship between Ghanaians and Nigerians.

After that, traditional rites and activities as integral parts of the coronation are expected to proceed in line with the laid down practices.

Nii Ofoli Mankralo of Dome-Kwabenya told African Editors that “I’m accepting him as Igbo Sub-Chief, Eze-Udo, Okuadaa-Ibube I for Dome-Kwabenya to assist the elders, police to fight crime and ensure sustainable peace, tranquility and security in the land devoid of rancor and acrimony”.
