Edmond Kombat appointed Deputy MD of TOR

President John Mahama has appointed Edmond Kombat as the new Deputy Managing Director of the Tema Oil Refinery (TOR). Kombat, who is also a legal practitioner, was a co-founder and the director of research and finance at the Institute for Energy Security (IES). With over a decade of experience, his most recent venture was as the Founder of Oyster Agribusiness.

In his new role, Kombat is expected to lead the transformation of TOR. His appointment was officially confirmed by the Member of Parliament for Ketu North, Eric Edem Agbana, via a Facebook post on Monday, January 27.

About TOR

Tema Oil Refinery (TOR) Ltd. is Ghana’s first significant industrial investment after the Akosombo Dam, having been commissioned in September 1963. TOR is renowned for producing high-quality petroleum products, including Aviation Turbine Kerosene (ATK), which is considered one of the best in Africa. The refinery is also the sole supplier of premix fuel for the country’s fishing sector.
