Enough is Enough demo: EC gags all regional directors

The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has discovered a directive from the Electoral Commission (EC) instructing Regional Directors not to comment when receiving the party’s regional petitions for the upcoming “Enough is Enough” demonstration on September 17, 2024. This demonstration is focused on auditing the 2024 Voters’ Register.

Dr. Edward Omane Boamah, the NDC’s Director of Elections and IT, revealed this information in a Facebook post, acknowledging the EC’s order and indicating that the party is fully aware of it.

Dr. Boamah suggested that the NDC will adjust its petitions accordingly to comply with the EC’s directive, ensuring that the appropriate petition is presented in each region, as the responsibility for addressing all issues seems to be centralized at the EC headquarters.

Acknowledging the EC’s directive, Dr. Boamah wrote, “We take note and appreciate your restriction,” indicating the party’s understanding of the EC’s approach leading up to the demonstration.

The “Enough is Enough” protest is part of the NDC’s ongoing efforts to promote transparency in the voter registration process for the 2024 general elections.
