EOCO picks up Kofi Akpaloo

LPG Leader arrested in dawn operation

The Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO) has reportedly picked up the leader of the Liberal Party of Ghana (LPG), Mr. Kofi Akpaloo, in a surprise early morning operation at his residence in Kumasi.

SARU leads coordinated operation

The operation was carried out by EOCO’s Surveillance and Asset Recovery Unit (SARU), deployed from the agency’s headquarters in Accra. Sources say SARU operatives worked in close collaboration with EOCO’s Ashanti Regional Office to execute the mission.

Arrest reportedly peaceful

According to insiders familiar with the matter, the arrest was conducted without incident. No resistance or complications were reported during the operation, which took place in the early hours of the morning.

Akpaloo transferred to Accra

Following his arrest, Mr. Akpaloo was reportedly transported to Accra. He is expected to assist EOCO investigators with ongoing inquiries. However, the nature of the investigations remains unclear at this time.

EOCO yet to issue statement

As of now, EOCO has not released an official statement regarding the arrest or the reasons behind it. Efforts to reach officials for comment have so far been unsuccessful.
