Ewurabena Aubyn of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) has emerged as the Member of Parliament-elect for the Ablekuma North Constituency, following a tightly contested election held on Friday, July 11, 2025. Final vote tally: Aubyn edges out Nana Akua Afriyie
According to the certified results declared by Ghana’s Electoral Commission (EC) at its headquarters, Ewurabena Aubyn secured 34,090 votes, (50.10%) narrowly defeating the former NPP MP, Nana Akua Afriyie, who polled 33,881 votes. The slim margin of 209 votes underscored the competitiveness of the race.
19 Polling stations finalize tally from 162 previous ones
The decisive votes came from 19 additional polling stations, which were added to the already collated results from 162 polling stations. These final polling centers played a pivotal role in confirming Aubyn’s lead and eventual victory.

The final announcement was made at the EC Headquarters, where officials affirmed that all due processes had been followed. The declaration officially confirmed Ewurabena Aubyn as the MP-elect for Ablekuma North, paving the way for her to represent the constituency in the current Parliament.
