Final funeral rites for late Nene Tuafo Adela Tachie III slated for January
The Royal family of Agbo, Tah, and the entire Agotime Adedome community are preparing for the final funeral rites of their beloved leader, the late Nene Tuafo Adela Tachie III, who passed away in May 2021. Following his interment shortly after his death, the community will gather to celebrate his life and legacy in a series of ceremonies, set to take place from January 10 to January 18, 2025.
The week-long event, anticipated to be a grand display of tradition and respect, will unfold at the EP Basic School in Adedome. The celebrations will feature traditional drumming, dancing, libations, and the firing of musketry, all symbolic of the community’s deep reverence for their late chief and his immense contributions.
Nene Tuafo Adela Tachie III is fondly remembered for his visionary leadership and tireless dedication to the progress of Agotime Adedome. Under his stewardship, the community saw significant improvements, including the establishment of educational facilities that serve students from crèche to Junior High School level. His advocacy for more teachers through the district educational directorate further enhanced the quality of education for local children.
Before his reign, Agotime Adedome struggled with a lack of access to clean drinking water, but Chief Tachie worked diligently to secure the installation of a borehole, ensuring that the community could enjoy a reliable water source. His efforts also led to the construction of KVIP (Ventilated Improved Pit) toilets, which improved sanitation in the area.
The late Nene Tachie was known for his selflessness, often using his personal vehicle as an ambulance to transport the sick to Kpetoe for medical treatment. He also initiated the building of a health facility in Agotime, a project that is steadily progressing and will continue to serve the community in the years to come.
Perhaps one of his most impactful achievements was his role in bringing electricity to Agotime Adedome. This transformative project revolutionized the community, improving living standards, fostering economic development, and providing access to modern amenities.
Though his passing left a deep void in the hearts of his people, Nene Tuafo Adela Tachie III’s legacy endures, continuing to inspire and shape the future of Agotime Adedome. His final funeral rites will be a fitting tribute to a leader who dedicated his life to the betterment of his community.
The family has extended a warm invitation to all sympathizers and well-wishers to join in honoring the memory of the late Nene Tuafo Adela Tachie III as they bid him a heartfelt final farewell.
