Former Hohoe MP Bernice Heloo passes away

Bernice Adiku Heloo, the former Member of Parliament for Hohoe, has passed away. She died in the early hours of Wednesday, December 25, after a brief illness.

Heloo represented the Hohoe Constituency in the 6th and 7th Parliaments of Ghana’s 4th Republic, serving from January 7, 2013, to January 6, 2021.

In addition to her parliamentary role, Heloo was the former president of the Society for Women and AIDS in Africa and the founder of Prolink, a Ghanaian NGO.

Her death has deeply saddened the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Volta Region. While regional executives have confirmed the news, an official statement has yet to be issued.
