Francis Kojo Kwarteng Arthur is new CEO of GEPA

Francis Kojo Kwarteng Arthur has officially assumed the role of Chief Executive Officer at the Ghana Export Promotion Authority (GEPA). He has laid out a strategic vision to boost Ghana’s export competitiveness and align with President John Mahama’s push for export-driven economic growth.

During a handing-over ceremony on Tuesday, February 4, 2025, Kwarteng Arthur highlighted the need for strong staff collaboration to implement policies that will expand non-traditional exports and strengthen Ghana’s presence in global markets.

He took the opportunity to acknowledge the efforts of the outgoing CEO, Osafohene Dr. Afua Asabea Asare I, her deputies, and the entire GEPA team for their significant contributions to the sector.

In her farewell address, Dr. Asare thanked management and staff for their support throughout her tenure and urged them to remain focused on GEPA’s long-term objectives under the new leadership.

Kwarteng Arthur’s appointment comes at a crucial moment as Ghana seeks to diversify its export base and take full advantage of the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA). His leadership is expected to prioritize strengthening trade partnerships, improving market access, and adding more value to key export sectors.
