GaDangme Council condemns attacks on Electrochem Ghana Ltd
The GaDangme Council has expressed deep concern over the recent violent attack on Electrochem Ghana Ltd., a subsidiary of the McDan Group, situated in Ada. A group of irate youth stormed the company’s premises, vandalizing warehouses and bungalows, and stealing property. This attack is not only unlawful but poses a serious threat to the development and stability of our communities.
We strongly condemn this act of hooliganism and call for an immediate, thorough investigation by the relevant authorities. It is crucial that those responsible for this criminal behavior are identified and brought to justice. The Council urges that these actions be seen as a warning to others, signaling that such disturbances will not be tolerated.
Electrochem Ghana Ltd. plays a vital role in the economic development of Ghana, especially within the Ada area. By providing employment opportunities and contributing to the region’s growth, the company has helped uplift the lives of many. Attacks like this only hinder the company’s ability to function, endanger jobs, and disrupt the livelihoods of countless individuals.
We urge the community to stay calm and avoid any actions that could further escalate tensions. The GaDangme Council is committed to engaging with all relevant stakeholders to ensure peace and stability are maintained in the region.
Additionally, we call on the government and security agencies to ensure the safety and protection of businesses operating in Ada, particularly Electrochem Ghana Ltd., so they can continue their operations without fear of further violence.
The GaDangme Council remains steadfast in its commitment to fostering peace, progress, and unity. We believe that through collaboration and mutual respect, we can build a prosperous and harmonious future for our people and businesses.
Yours faithfully,
Signed
