Ghana Nat’l Fire Service marks 9th Anniversary at Adedome in Agotime Ziope District
The colorful event marked the existence of Ghana National Fire Service in the Agotime Ziope District. To celebrate the success chalked and commission the first Fire Volunteers Squad in the district since it’s operation began in the district.
Nene Adela Tachie Tuafo IV, Dufia of Agotime Adedome chaired the august occasion, welcomed the distinguished guests and dignitaries as the occasion gives us the opportunity to gather to reflect on our journey and chart a path towards transformative development.
In the speech of the Regional Fire Commander, He appealed through Nene Chairman to the Paramount Chief for a site to construct an ultramodern fire station in the District. He congratulated the District commander for this novel initiative within the service nationwideand empowered him to do more. Fire fighting is a shared responsibility. He again charged the community to cooperate with the Fire volunteers as well as the Fire Officers for effective action.
The event was used to launch The 2024 Anti Bushfire Campaign with the Theme: Effective bushfire prevention, stakeholders involvement to ensure a greener tomorrow.
Awards were presented to,
Overal best volunteer,
Overal best in academics and
Regional Fire Commander’s award. All 13 Fire volunteers received a certificate and working tools to aid the smooth execution of their duties. Donation of educational materials and sanitary pads were made by the District Fire Commander the Adedome E.P Basic School. Funds were raised in aid of providing marker boards for the JHS department.
Nene Chairman in his closing remarks appreciated the support of the Fire service for staging the anniversary celebration in Agotime Adedome, the donation made and health screening well executed.
Nene congratulated the fire volunteers on a successful 5 weeks training and urged them to carryout their duties in honor and with commitment.
Nene applauded the community for their massive contributions and involvement and appealed to everyone to join the agenda of building a safer,stronger and brighter future for Adedome.
All district service commanders together with the Regional Fire Commander joined Nene Adela Tachie Tuafo IV to unveil a signpost for the Adedome E.P Basic School newly constructed by Nene Tuafo IV and Hon Charles Agbeve Member of Parliament for Agotime Ziope Constituency.
