Ghanaians desire unified approach to nat’l dev’t -Alan
Alan John Kwadwo Kyerematen, leader of the Movement for Change, acknowledged that Ghanaians are increasingly seeking a unified approach to national development. He made this statement while speaking at the National Economic Summit in Accra, which focused on mobilizing talent across the country without regard to political, religious, or ethnic affiliations.
The summit aimed to formulate a comprehensive National Development Plan and was driven by the need to harness all available talents, move away from party manifestos, and address economic challenges. The summit resulted in the development of the Great Transformational Plan, which focused on economic, infrastructure, social services, governance, and behavioural and attitudinal change.
Alan Kyerematen stressed that the summit aimed to provide specific policy recommendations rather than dwell on the causes of existing problems. He called for a new path to prosperity, inclusive wealth generation, and accountability for past wrongdoing. Despite his political aspirations, he emphasized his commitment to the greater goal of bringing economic prosperity to the nation.
The summit was seen as a significant step toward collaboration and the development of a shared vision for Ghana’s future economic trajectory. The participants were expected to discuss and propose specific policy recommendations to reset the country’s economic course towards inclusive prosperity.
