Gov’t payroll is full, start your own business- Ofori-Atta prompts UPSA Graduates

Finance Minister Ken Ofori-Atta has advised graduands of University of Professional Studies, UPSA to create their own business and stop looking for jobs.

According to him, the government payroll is currently full folding the hands from hiring workers.

Addressing new alumni at the Accra based UPSA, Ofori-Atta said the government payroll is full with not space to absorb further graduates.

“A great many people search for a jobs from government or state institutions. However that payroll is full. I should let you know that since we are spending around 60% of our income on compensating nearly 650,000 individuals, and that isn’t reasonable,” he said.
