Gov’t will set-up Ghana Postgraduate College of Medical Lab Sciences- Health Minister
Health Minister Kwaku Agyeman-Manu has revealed that plans are far-advanced to establish Ghana Postgraduate College of Sciences to improve training of laboratory professionals in the country.
Ghana Association of Medical Laboratory Scientists (GAMLS) has been on the forefront of pushing for the setting up of Ghana Postgraduate College of Medical Laboratory Sciences to scale up the training of laboratory professionals in Ghana.
According to Mr. Agyeman-Manu, establishment of Ghana Postgraduate College of Medical Laboratory Sciences will enhance training of qualified lab professionals, improve standards, certification whilst warding off quack laboratory professionals in the country.
Speaking at official opening ceremony of 2021 Annual General and Scientific Meeting of the West African Postgraduate College of Medical Laboratory Science (WAPCMLS), Ghana Chapter on theme: Postgraduate Medical Laboratory Science Education and Practice in West Africa on Saturday, 17 July, 2021 in Accra Ampoma Hotel, East Legon, Health Minister Kwaku Agyeman-Manu in a speech read on his behalf by Lawyer Amidu, the Health Minster Mr. Agyeman-Manu said “Government will set up Postgraduate College of Medical Laboratory Sciences to improve specialised training of medical lab personnel and standards “.
