GWL restores water supply in HO municipality
The Management of Ghana Water Ltd (GWL) is pleased to inform the public that the water supply situation in the Ho Municipality, which was disrupted due to the breakdown of all three (3) pumps at the Kpeve Water Abstraction Plant, has been resolved.
GWL deployed its technical teams, who worked tirelessly and around the clock to restore operations within the stipulated time of 48 hours, to set in motion the short-term solution outlined by the Managing Director, Hon. Adam Mutawakilu.
The short-term measures also implemented include the provision of tanker services to essential service institutions.
As part of GWL’s commitment to ensuring uninterrupted water supply, two new pumps have been procured and are expected to arrive in the country by the end of March as a medium-term solution.
In line with the government’s vision of ‘Water for All’ and the goal of leaving no one behind in access to safe and sustainable water, the strategic long-term measures to address the growing disparity between water demand and supply are already underway, with a key focus on the planned expansion of the Kpeve Water Treatment Plant to enhancec capacityand ensure sustainable water provision for the Ho Municipality and surrounding communities.
Management acknowledges and deeply appreciates the dedication of His Excellency; President John Dramani Mahama to ensuring a stable and reliable water supply, as well as equitable access for all residents of the Ho Municipality and Ghana as a whole.
