Hajia4Reall case: more suspects to go down -Cybersecurity Expert

Cybersecurity Expert, David Gyedu, has cautioned against the abuse of the internet, especially to defraud unsuspecting people.

According to Mr. Gyedu, no matter the Virtual Private Network (VPN) one employs in his dubious operations he cannot get away with a crime committed online.

“I want to tell people and ensure people that there’s no such 100 percent anonymity no matter how expensive tools you use. Because people say they use VPN. Yes, live VPNs are encrypted but if they are encrypted the police with a court order they can get the source code, or with the encrypted VPN they can get the VPN vendor, they write to them and get some kind of info [information] from them,” the cybersecurity expert said.

David Gyedu told the media on Tuesday, May 16, 2023.

His comments come on the back of Hajia4Reall being extradited to the United States from the United Kingdom over her alleged involvement in a $2 million romance scam targeting older single Americans.

The Socialite is facing six-count Indictment charges for her role in a series of romance schemes and for laundering the proceeds of those schemes.

“We alleged today that Ms. Montrage participated in multiple romance scams – often targeting elderly victims – resulting in more than $2 million in fraudulent funds under her control.

“Romance scams – especially those that target older individuals – are of major concern. The FBI will be tireless in our efforts to hold fraudsters accountable in the criminal justice system,” the FBI Assistant Director in Charge Michael J. Driscoll said.

Mr. Gyedu noted that the FBI will soon arrest the accomplices of Hajia4Reall.

He further stated that the internet is not a fertile ground for breeding criminals and urged fraudsters to turn a new leaf.

“So even if now we have the chance and the law and enforcement authority are requesting your details on Instagram it will baffle your mind that if records to even your current location, the mobile phone you are using, a lot of information and not to say that being surprising on Facebook, we have something called offline activity. Yes, you can you have done something on Facebook with VPN, offline they are still getting access to whatever you are doing.

“There are so many tracking and I can bet you on this that if she is guilty then she didn’t do it alone she’s a number of people involved and probably they might not be in Ghana outside Ghana somewhere all over around,” he noted.
