Health Min. blames delays of licensure exam results for foreign-trained doctors on lack of governing board
Minister of Health Kwaku Agyemang-Manu has assured foreign-trained medical doctors who took part in the licensure exams will have their results released soon but failed to spell out the fixed limelines.
The said results of examination conducted by the Ghana Medical and Dental Council for medical doctors who intend to practice in Ghana after training outside Ghana have delayed for weeks leaving the affected doctors unhappy and agitated.
But, responding to questions from Deputy Minority Leader and Ketu North MP Dr. James Klutse Avedzi on the development, the Health Minister Agyeman-Manu assured the results will be released soon but attributed the hold up to the absence of a governing board for the Dental and Medical Council.
On the Agenda 111 project seeking to establish district hospitals accros Ghana, the Health Minister said” I’m unable to specify the exact date the construction will start in every district but the contractors and consultants are mobilising to move to site”.
