I made my first £1m at 21 selling scrap -Cheddar

Founder of New Force Movement Nana Kwame Bediako, also known as Cheddar, recently shared that he achieved his first million pounds at the young age of 21 by selling scrap.

In an interview with Bernard Avle on Citi TV, Cheddar discussed his early entrepreneurial endeavors. He explained that he owned his own company, Global Telecommunications and Utilities (GT), and had a team of two employees. He emphasized that his success in investments came from starting at a young age, acknowledging that the money can sometimes disappear and leave one feeling broke again, which further fuels ambition.

Cheddar also mentioned his venture into the nightclub industry in Ghana. Using $20,000 from his initial million-pound earnings, he established a nightclub and later sold it in 2002 for $75,000.

Aside from his business achievements, Cheddar recently entered into Ghana’s political arena as the leader of the New Force Movement, with aspirations of running for president as an independent candidate. He expressed that the New Force represents the youth of the country and believes that they should have a say in deciding who leads and how they lead. Cheddar highlighted the lack of youth representation in Ghana’s political landscape over the past four decades, stating that he wants to be the unifying figure that the nation needs.
