I will appear before Otumfuo Monday -Lawyer Ampaw
Private Legal Practitioner Maurice Ampaw has revealed that he will appear before His Royal Majesty Otumfuo Osei Tutu II at the Manhyia Palace after he together with Chairman Wontumi and Wontumi Radio was summoned by the Kumasi Traditional Council. Lawyer Maurice Ampaw although insists the appropriate thing to do would be for the traditional council to have written to him separately because he is not a card-bearing member of the governing NPP, said he would honour the invitation as the sign of respect for the chiefs.
Kumasi Traditional Council ordered the NPP Chairman Bernard Antwi Boasiako to appear at the Manhyia Palace in 7 days with Lawyer Maurice Ampaw following alleged derogatory remarks against the Asantehene. The NPP delegation, led by General Secretary Justin Kodua and National Organiser Henry Nana Boakye, pleaded for a two-week recovery period for Chairman Wontumi, but were denied.
The Bantamahene, Baffour Owusu Amankwaatia, ordered the Chairman to appear before the Traditional Council next Monday. The NPP dissociated themselves from Maurice Ampaw’s involvement in the issue.
