On the left, President Akufo-Addo and on the right, Former President Mahama have been engaged in a war of words ahead of the 2024 general election. President Akufo-Addo urged Ghanaians not to vote for Mr Mahama, raising concerns about the progress made during his own time in office.

During a rally in the Eastern region, President Akufo-Addo endorsed Dr Mahamadu Bawumia as his preferred successor, believing that he would continue the development trajectory established during his term.

In response, Mr Mahama took to social media to criticize President Akufo-Addo’s administration, denouncing corruption, misgovernance, arrogance, ineptitude, and a struggling economy.
