Kumasi Traditional Council orders NPP to produce Wontumi in 7 days

The Kumasi Traditional Council has demanded that the New Patriotic Party produce its Ashanti Regional Chairman Bernard Antwi Boasiako, also known as Chairman Wontumi within the next seven days. Additionally, the council has ordered lawyer Maurice Ampaw and the management of Wontumi TV/Radio to appear before them due to alleged unsavory comments made against the chiefs.

The NPP delegation visited the Manhyia Palace on Monday January 22, 2024 to address allegations of unsavory comments made against the Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II by the party stalwart, Wontumi. However, Wontumi was unable to attend the meeting due to illness.

The General Secretary of the NPP, Justin Kodua, requested an adjournment of the meeting for two weeks, but the council rejected this and instead adjourned the meeting to Monday January 29, 2024. The verdict was delivered by Bantamahene on behalf of the council.
